W-O is a company that primarily focuses on three business verticals namely operating tanker pools, providing technical and commercial management service to Marine Asset Owners and creating new projects. Its main strength is operating small (3,750-20,000 DWT) tankers employed in international trade. W-O also partially or fully owns some of these assets.

Management of W-O believes that providing logistics solutions to customers in need of sea borne liquid bulk transportation has significant potential, and intends to capitalize on that opportunity.

W-O has grown through project creation in the German KG and Dutch CV market and during the process has developed strong relationships with investment funds, banks, shipyards, oil and chemical companies and traders.

W-O has consolidated its Technical Management services under the brand OMCI, its Commercial Management services under the brand WOMAR and the projects and group activities are carried out under the brand W-O.

History

W-O Shipping Group was founded in 2002. By raising equity from Dutch & German tax partnerships the company erected several tanker projects to serve in the near-sea logistics segment. Later in 2005, it evolved into commercial and technical management of tankers & created a chartering company jointly with Chemoil and consequently 10 more projects were completed. In 2006 the current owners and founders completed a management buy out of W-O group thus increasing its commercial and technical management to 13 vessels. In 2009 the W-O fleet is projected to grow from about 35 tankers to 50 tankers.
