ARKON Shipping GmbH & Co. KG, Haren (Ems) was founded in 1995 by Mr. Torsten Westphal and the two Haren-based shipowners. Reederei Wessels and Reederei Jüngerhans. As of June 2007, Mr. Torsten Westphal and Mr. Thomas Cord established ARKON Shipping & Projects GmbH & Co. KG, Hamburg.
Today ARKON is responsible for an exclusive fleet of more than 100 Vessels. About 60 newbuildings will join the fleet within the next 3 years.
ARKON has been appointed Commercial Agent in Europe for the Intermarine Group (Industrial Maritime Carriers), one of the leading carrier of heavy lift and project cargoes worldwide.
