Navigation’s Ship Repair and Fabrication(S&F Dept.) facility,situated in the industrial area of Mesaieed, has been fully operationalsince 1982 and offers a complete service to the shipping, marinetransport, offshore oil and gas related industries throughout the Gulfregion.

Complemented by the only floating dock facility in Qatar,Navigation’s Ship Repair Yard and Workshop offer a comprehensivemaintenance package to the discerning ship owner and marine operatingcompany.

Supported by a core workforce of 80 multidisciplined personnel, theship repair yard offers a turnkey or cost plus solution to the fullrange of services required by INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING INDUSTRIES. Allwork is performed to the highest level and meets Classification SocietyStandards. Over 1000 vessels have been dry docked to date and 2600major repair jobs successfully carried out afloat.

The shipyard is geared with special equipment and facilities fordry-docking and ship repair of all kind of vessels and industrial work.It consists of a floating dock of 3680 tons lifting capacity and amechanical ship lift of 700 tonnes lifting capacity, five dry berthsand a 130m repairing dock to repair the floating ships. A new floatingdock of 8500 tons lifting capacity has been purchased which is beingbuilt in Ukraine. The new dock will be in operation by the thirdquarter of 2006.

  tonnes weight) supply vessels, tug boats, barges, dredgers, yachts, launches, S.B.M. etc.
• Repairing of all kind of marine units while afloat either alongside Shipyard Jetty or at Doha Port or at Anchorage Areas.
• Fabricationof all type of steel constructions. Overhauling, repairing andservicing of all types of diesel engines, generating sets, pumps &motors.
• Rewinding of all types of electrical motors, transformers & alternators.
• Manufacturing of all types of steel wire rope slings & chain slings.
• Fabrication,installation, commissioning, testing and carrying out repairs forE.O.T. crane under license from MUNCK CRANE INTERNATIONAL, NORWAY.
• Re-metalling of bearings with white metal. Casting repairs metal stitching process.
• Reconditioningof all shafts by spiral welding using helifusion welding process.In-site boring of stern tubes, etc., by using Atlas stern tube boringequipment.
• Dynamic balancing of motors, impellers, shafts, blowers, etc.
• Repairing / reconditioning and balancing of all types of propellers by trained personnel.
• Stressrelieving of fabrication, preheating and post heating of heavy weldingrepairs and expanding of shrink fitting by cooper- heat equipment.
• Carrying out all type of machining works.
• Servicing of fuel injection equipment.
• Repairing, servicing and maintenance of air-conditioning and refrigeration.

In 2005, a total of 57 dry-docked vessels were repaired (22 vesselson the floating dock and 35 vessels on the ship lift), in addition toexecuting 162 maintenance operation on floating ships. An 800 meterstest floating pipes for oil imports were assembled.
