Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering Co., South Korea's third-largest shipyard, is poised to win its first cruise ship order.
According to local source, the shipbuilder is "in talks with a Greek firm over the deal, estimated at $600 million."
The other source said the negotiations are in fact with Louis Cruises, a unit of Cyprus's Louis Group.
The news of the potential DSME cruise ship contract, follows November's announcement that Samsung Heavy Industries had signed a letter of intent for a $1.1 billion residential cruise ship for Utopia Residences of Beverley Hills.
